Marjory McClure’s inspiration to create Wonderfully Made, the first Christian childbirth course brought to West Michigan, came while attending a national meeting of childbirth educators in 1992. After hearing testimonials of other instructors who were teaching Christian childbirth classes, she felt the call to write and teach a childbirth course focusing on the presence of Christ in labor and birth. The first course was held in April of 1997, and years later Wonderfully Made is still being offered through Borgess Hospital.
Marjory has taught childbirth education since 1986, working with Kalamazoo Association for Prepared Childbirth and Borgess Health.
She has been married to her husband Tom for 33 years, and they have two children.
In addition to her teaching she is now a Certified Doula.
Experience Prior to her work on Wonderfully Made, Marjory was a childbirth educator for the Kalamazoo Public Schools’ Continuing Education for Young Families (CEYF) for twelve years. While there, she helped prepare single pregnant teens for their labor and birth experience.
Education Marjory holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Western Michigan University.
